High Silicon Cast Lron

High silicon cast iron anodes are widely used as a corrosion-resistant material due to their low cost and abundant raw materials. They have been the main anode material for cathodic protection since the 1950s. High silicon cast iron anodes have good corrosion resistance because the surface of the anode can form a stable silicon dioxide film, which is effective in both seawater and freshwater. We recommend using chromium or molybdenum chromide to prevent hypochlorite corrosion.

Product Details

High silicon cast iron anodes are widely used for cathodic protection of surface structures, buried pipelines and cables, etc. It is a low-resistance, low-consumption, and low-energy-consumption anode. The silicon iron anodes we produce meet the ASTM5-18-86 (Grade 3) standard. This anode is cast using cold casting technology, which has better quality and performance than those cast using sand molds. The following specifications of anodes are available:

Compared to solid rod anodes, tubular anodes have the following advantages:

1. Reduce the electrolysis of the anode.

2. Increase the surface area to weight ratio, thereby reducing the current density, which is conducive to the diffusion of the generated gas. This is important for deep installation.

3. The cable connection position is in the center of the tube to increase the current dispersion and release the end charge
