Test piles are mainly used for measuring the parameters of cathodic protection system, such as the cathodic protection potential, current, ground resistance, electrical insulation performance of insulation devices, and the operating status of sacrificial anodes. Test piles have six connection terminals, which can be assembled into cathodic protection potential, current, sacrificial anode, and electrical insulation test piles or cross-pipe test piles according to the specific requirements of the design unit. Test piles consist of pile bodies, test connection boards, test wires, and nameplates, among other components.
There are various types of test piles, including carbon steel test piles, polycarbonate test piles, stainless steel test piles, concrete test piles, plastic test piles, and fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) test piles, among others.
