Product Details

Zinc based anodes are widely used for shipping applications, they are also used for offshore structures but their higher density can lead to weight limitations. Zinc anodes do not require a chloride environment to operate and can be used in brackish and fresh water applications and onshore with resistivity up to 30 Ohm*m.
Our Zinc anodes are subject of National and/or International Patents. The different compositions are intended to optimize specific performance properties.
The electrochemical properties for zinc based alloys will vary depending on the specific alloy composition and the operating environment.
Generally, zinc alloys are only applicable at temperatures up to 50 °C. Above this temperature, zinc alloys can suffer from inter-granular corrosion, especially when buried in saline mud. Syncor develop a Zinc alloy that can operate successfully at higher temperatures up to 85 °C. Anodes offer as pre-packed for onshore Cathodic protection or AC Mitigation.

Aluminium Anode

The chemical composition of DERUI aluminum anodes is based on the well established Al-Zn-In alloy and it is suitable for most sea water applications. The quality of the anode and especially the alloying procedure is of outmost importance for the performance of aluminum anodes which are generally more susceptible to passivation than zinc. However aluminum alloys have an electrochemical capacity which is more than 3 times greater than the capacity of zinc and it is nowadays the most widely used alloy for the Cathodic protection of ships and other marine metallic structures.

Magnesium Anode

Magnesium anodes are used for protecting buried pipelines and tanks, heat exchangers and chillers, large gate valves, evaporative condensers, hot water tanks, etc.
They are available in many shapes and sizes as well as either bare ingots or pre-packaged in cotton bags with chemical backfill.

Magnesium Ribbon

Magnesium strip anodes are used in soil environments and high resistivity water environments. Magnesium strip anodes have a higher area to weight ratio, can provide higher current output, and magnesium strip anodes are flexible and variable, which is more convenient to install during construction.
